Recipients will attend CDI program at Lone Star College

Entergy Texas recently named four scholarship recipients to attend the Community Development Institute Texas program at Lone Star College. CDI is a nationally recognized program that offers training for economic and community development professionals.

Entergy Texas is a founding sponsor of CDI Texas. Aside from serving as a longtime sponsor of the program, Entergy Texas employees have participated in CDI Texas programs, served as instructors and given commencement addresses.

Two of the four Entergy Texas scholarships are endowments named in honor of Michael Barnhill and Carolyn Motl, former Entergy Texas employees.

"Several Entergy Texas employees have directly benefitted from CDI's program at Lone Star, and we're proud to offer the same opportunity to economic and community development practitioners in our community," said Steve Pilgrim, director of business and economic development for Entergy Texas.

The 2018 Entergy Texas scholarship recipients are Shannan Reid, executive director at Montgomery Economic Development Council; Johnny McNally, president of Navasota Chamber of Commerce/Grimes County Economic Development; Heather Neeley, director of Economic Development for the City of Oak Ridge North; and Courtland Holman, executive director of Dayton Community Development Corporation.

This year, three Entergy Texas employees are participating in CDI Texas: Allegra Ellis, analyst II; Tracie Roberts-Diehl, customer service representative I; and Melissa Bochat, community developer.
