Kids at LRAFB Get Back-to-School Backpacks from Jacksonville Crew

08/07/2016

Living and working in the moving shadows of hulking C-130s as they fly training runs around central Arkansas, it was a natural fit for employees at Entergy Arkansas’ Jacksonville Service Center to take part in a program to benefit families living at the Little Rock Air Force Base.

On Aug. 5 eight employees delivered and helped hand a portion of the 300+ school backpacks for children of E—E6-level airman, which are some of the lower-paid positions. Entergy contributed $1,000 to Operation Homefront to help purchase the backpacks, and other businesses helped fill them up with school supplies.

In the photo are Jay Hartman, customer service representative for the Jacksonville area, Ben Cantrell, Jackie Whitaker, Tammy Carter, Brent Harris, Steve Marsh and Gabe Lentz. Not pictured, but also present at the event, were Shawn Hollingshead and Monteith Colclough.
