NEW ORLEANS -- Work will continue on Magazine Street, from Leake Avenue to State Street, weather permitting, as Entergy New Orleans, Inc. crews continue the technological upgrade to its electric power transmission system. Multiple Entergy crews with bucket trucks and cranes will conduct work in stages and traffic will be blocked at the site of each steel transmission pole. Here's a breakdown:

· Magazine Street will be open thru Monday, Sept. 14 at 6 a.m.

· During the critical "pull" work on Monday, Sept. 14 and Tuesday, Sept. 15,   all automobile, bicycle and pedestrian traffic will be prohibited on Magazine from Leake to State from 6 a.m.­ - 6 p.m. In addition, Webster, Calhoun, Audubon and Walnut streets and East Drive also will be closed to thru traffic at Magazine, and no parking will be allowed on either side of Magazine. There will be a safe/guarded crossing at Henry Clay Avenue. Instead of using Magazine, drivers should use Broadway Street, Henry Clay, Nashville Avenue or State to St. Charles Avenue. When safety permits, residents, Audubon Zoo employees/visitors and Audubon Park employees/visitors will be allowed entrance via Leake.

· When "post-pull" work is underway on Wednesday, Sept.16, Thursday, Sept. 17, and Friday Sept. 18, there will be rotating traffic closures on Magazine from Leake to State from 9 a.m. - 3 p.m. Audubon, Walnut and East Drive also will experience rotating closures to accommodate this work, and no parking will be allowed on either side of Magazine. Instead of using Magazine, drivers should use Broadway, Henry Clay, Nashville or State to St. Charles. Residents, Audubon Zoo employees/visitors and Audubon Park employees/visitors will be allowed entrance via Leake.

Customers in the impacted areas have received specific information about the transmission line replacement procedure in advance. Customer service representatives will continue reaching out to impacted customers while work is in progress.
