NEW ORLEANS – Beginning Thursday, July 30 and running through Wednesday, August 5, weather permitting, Entergy New Orleans, Inc. crews will be working on Patton Street, from Henry Clay to Joseph streets, as the company continues the technological upgrade to its electric power transmission system. 

Multiple Entergy crews with bucket trucks and cranes will conduct work in stages and traffic will be blocked at the site of each steel transmission pole. Here’s a breakdown:

  • When "pre-pull" and "post-pull" work is underway, there will be rotating traffic closures (2-4 hours) on Patton Street and no parking will be allowed on either side of Patton Street. Instead of using Patton, drivers should use Laurel Street. Cross streets will be open during this time period.
  • During the critical "pull" work, all automobile, bicycle and pedestrian traffic will be prohibited on Patton from Henry Clay Avenue to Joseph Street. Webster, Eleonore and Arabella will also be closed to thru traffic at Patton and there will be no parking allowed on either side of Patton during the pull. However, there will be a safe/guarded crossing at State Street and Nashville Avenue.

Customers in the impacted areas have received specific information about the transmission line replacement procedure in advance. Customer service representatives will continue reaching out to impacted customers while work is in progress.
