Crews Narrow Focus on Areas Hit Hardest by Storm System

01/12/2020

Crews expect to restore power by tonight to the majority of customers still without electricity in areas struck hardest by the violent storm system that swept across Louisiana Saturday. Restoration work will continue into Monday for some north Louisiana customers in heavily damaged areas.

The storm system, which spawned tornadoes, strong winds and lightning, knocked out power to approximately 34,000 customers across Louisiana. The system caused significant damage to Entergy’s infrastructure, particularly in some parts of north Louisiana. As of 2:30 p.m., approximately 2,600 customers remained without power.

A storm team is continuing to clear downed trees, limbs and other debris and repair damage and restore power as quickly and safely as possible. As crews complete work, they are converging on other locations to help accelerate restoration efforts in the hardest-hit areas.
