Entergy Louisiana provided a $10,000 grant to help the Ponchatoula Police Department purchase new bulletproof vests.

"Our department is extremely grateful for this generous donation," said Ponchatoula Police Chief Bry Layrisson. "Bulletproof vests have a five-year shelf life; therefore, donations such as this one allow us to purchase new vests to ensure our officers are safe and protected."

"Entergy Louisiana takes pride in partnering with local law enforcement agencies to enhance the safety in our communities," said Eunice Harris, Entergy Louisiana customer service representative.
