Restoration Update

04/13/2020

Monroe, LA
Monroe, LA

The recent storms knocked power out for 194,496 of our customers across our service territory. At 8:45 a.m., we had 169,733 customers out of service.

  • Arkansas, 119, 912.
  • Louisiana, 12,084.
  • Mississippi, 37,697.
  • Texas, 40.

Arkansas has been hard hit, with damage rivaling the back-to-back ice storms in 2000.

In Louisiana, most damage is in north Louisiana, where multiple tornadoes were reported in and around West Monroe. Hundreds of broken poles and damaged spans of wire are reported.

In Mississippi, most customer outages are north of a line from Yazoo City to Kosciusko.

We are assessing the damage to our system caused by this storm. Assessment could take up to three days and could be affected by our ongoing COVID-19 response. Our scouts are assessing damage to determine the exact cause of your outage and how long it will take correct the problem.

  • While we are assessing damage, we will begin restoring service where it is safe to do so.
  • We'll be better prepared to give an estimated time to restore your power after the full assessment is completed.
  • As we restore service, we will maintain our additional safety precautions adopted due to COVID-19 pandemic. Along with our standard storm preparations, we are taking additional steps to adjust crew staging locations to helping team members maintain social distancing.

Safety is an Entergy key value and always comes first. Then, restoring power is the next order of business. We have started restoration where it is safe to do so.

  • First, we restore power to critical community infrastructure and essential services such as hospitals, water treatment plants, police and fire stations, and communication systems.
  • Then we will concentrate our resources on what gets the greatest number of customers restored the fastest.
  • Please do not approach utility workers at the job site because these can be dangerous locations and because interruptions will slow their progress.

  • For their safety and yours, please stay away from their work zones. If you need to report a problem with your service or get bill payment help, we’re just a phone call away: 1-800-ENTERGY.
  • Due to the additional efforts we must take due to the COVID-19 pandemic and the significant and widespread outages, restoration times may be extended.
