Storm Restoration Update Monday Morning

05/13/2019

Since the severe weather that blew through Entergy Texas service territory on May 10th, Entergy has restored more than 104,596 outages. Overnight, Entergy crews restored power to 4,435 customers. As of 8:00 am, there are 2,490 customers without power. The remaining significant damage exists in the Port Arthur and Mid County areas. Over the past three days, Entergy has engaged more than 1,500 people to assist with restoring power safely and quickly.

At this time, Entergy Texas has directed all of the available crews on completing restoration work in the Port Arthur area.

Safety is an Entergy key value and always comes first. When restoring power, we have a specific process we follow to safely restore all customers. First, we restore power to critical community infrastructure and essential services such as hospitals, water treatment plants, police and fire stations, and communication systems. Then, we will concentrate our resources on what gets the greatest number of customers restored the fastest.

Port Arthur

Overnight, Entergy Texas restored power to 1,873 customers with 1,817 customers waiting for power to be restored. There are 520 workers in the Mid County and Port Arthur areas combined with more resources being added as other areas of the system are restored. Crews will be working today at 29th St., Woodrow, Bordages Rd., 3rd and 10th, Woodrow and Neches, 7th and 8th, corner of 6th Ave and 14th St., 32nd and 11th, and Tyler Ave. Entergy workers are still replacing wires that were torn down from the storm and replacing broken poles throughout the day. While we expect that most customers will be restored sooner, some customers should expect outages to last through Tuesday, May 14 at 6:00 PM. We apologize for the inconvenience and are working as quickly as safely possible.

Entergy Texas has opened a Customer Information Center in the Port Arthur area located at Central Mall in the parking lot near Sears. The physical address is 3100 Hwy 365. The center will be open today, Monday, May 13, from 9:00 am – 3:00 pm. Entergy representatives will be available to assist customers with outage concerns while customers wait for power to be restored.
