Just 36 hours after Hurricane Francine’s landfall, Entergy’s workforce has returned electrical power to 65% of impacted customers in Louisiana, New Orleans and Mississippi. Crews are restoring power as safely and quickly as possible; however, assessment continues in some areas.

The effects of Hurricane Francine continue to disrupt customers’ lives primarily in Louisiana and New Orleans. Damage assessment continues for our customers who lost power due to Hurricane Francine.

Entergy’s Waterford 3 Nuclear Generating Station and River Bend Station in Louisiana and Grand Gulf Nuclear Station in Mississippi operated at full power during Hurricane Francine, which once again shows the resiliency and strength of nuclear power.

Hurricane Francine, currently a tropical depression, continues moving northeastward from Louisiana through Mississippi. At 7 a.m., we had approximately 10,790 customer outages in the southern portion of our Entergy Mississippi territory. Outages are expected to fluctuate throughout the day as the storm moves through our service area and, therefore, are subject to change based upon the storm’s impact.

Hurricane Francine, currently a tropical depression, continues moving northeastward from Louisiana through Mississippi. Outages are expected to continue increasing today as the storm moves through Entergy’s service territory.

Hurricane Francine has made landfall in Terrebonne Parish as a Category 2 hurricane this evening. Outages are expected to continue increasing today as the storm moves through Entergy’s service territory. After landfall, the center is expected to move northward into Mississippi Wednesday night and early Thursday morning.
