Adams Named Distribution Operations Centers Director

08/04/2020

Clay Adams, currently senior manager of Louisiana distribution operations and safety, has been named distribution operations centers director, effective Aug. 9.

This new role, reporting to Vice President, Utility Distribution Operations Eli Viamontes, will lead the four DOC managers and oversee the business units’ restoration functions and related systems.

“Clay’s diverse background will be key to strategically aligning our DOC organizations,” said Viamontes. “His strong leadership skills and operational experience will be beneficial in enhancing our restoration capabilities, while keeping a strong focus on safety and customer centricity.”

Creation of this role was announced last month, to centralize the DOCs and allow the senior operations manager teams to focus on ensuring successful execution of incremental reliability work, tied to the distribution plan investments.

Adams has served in his current role since January 2019. Prior to that, he held several positions across the transmission and distribution organizations within Entergy, including senior manager of Louisiana transmission grid-east, director of transmission project management and construction, and manager of substation design transmission engineering. He has been with the company since 2000, has led multiple cross-functional teams and has performed in critical incident response leadership roles in both transmission and distribution.

Adams has a Bachelor of Science degree in electrical engineering from Louisiana State University and holds a project management professional certification.
