Warmer temperatures today have helped Entergy Mississippi’s restoration efforts. As of 5 p.m., we have restored power to nearly 65,300 customers, down from a peak of about 90,000. Approximately 24,700 customers remain without power. Crews continue to restore service where it is safe to do so.

As of 8 a.m., about 37,600 customers are without power, down from a peak of about 90,000 which is about 1/5 of all Entergy Mississippi customers.

Crews continue to focus on safely restoring power after this week’s unprecedented winter storm caused power outages for about 1/5 of Entergy Mississippi’s customers. At peak, about 90,000 customers were without power. As of 5 p.m. we have restored service to more than 42,000 customers. Nearly 48,000 customers remain without power, primarily in the central and southern portions of our service area.

As of 7 a.m., about 55,000 Entergy Mississippi customers remain without power as a result of Wednesday’s winter weather, down from a peak of approximately 90,000. We have brought in more resources and, along with our own workforce, more than 1,800 lineworkers, vegetation workers, damage assessors and support personnel are restoring power as quickly and safely as possible.

Ice accumulation on trees and power lines from Wednesday’s wave of winter weather continue causing significant power outages for customers across Entergy Mississippi’s service territory. Our restoration efforts continue, as the demand for electricity is growing. We will restore service to our customers as safely and quickly as possible. However, restoration will take a few days.

Entergy Mississippi Winter Storm Update – 2/18/21 @ 9 a.m.

Another round of icy winter weather swept through Entergy Mississippi’s service area last night, causing additional power outages and widespread damage. We have not experienced a winter storm of this magnitude in over 25 years. As of 7:30 a.m., nearly 90,000 customers are without power. The weather affected the central portion of our territory from Hwy 84 in the south up to Hwy 82 in the north. We currently have 49 substation circuit breakers out of service.

As of 8 p.m. nearly 58,000 customers are without power due to the ongoing ice storm. Most outages are north of a line from Natchez to Brookhaven up to the Jackson metro area and north of Madison and Canton toward Kosciusko.
