Company Responds to Arkansas River Flooding; Outages Minimal

As the Arkansas River reaches record high levels this week, Entergy Arkansas is responding with measures to protect both people and equipment in flooded areas along the river.

As of noon May 29, service to about 30 customers had been temporarily disconnected. We estimate that 200-300 customers will have service interrupted before the event is over. Those affected are along the river in Russellville, Danville, Morrilton, Mayflower, Little Rock, Pine Bluff, Des Arc, Dewitt and Reydail.

If a customer’s electrical outlets or meter base becomes submerged and after water has receded, the customer should call a certified electrician to inspect and repair the wiring. The electrician or customer should call us at 1-800-ENTERGY to remove the meter until inspection and repairs are made. If permits are required (this varies city to city), a certified electrician will need to work with the city to obtain the permit.
Temporary disconnects due to flooding will NOT be reflected in the company’s View Outages website.
Severe weather is predicted in Arkansas in the next couple of days. Restoration following outages for any reason – not just flooding – may be delayed due to access problems in flooded areas.
