Barry Update: Louisiana workforce totals over 2,800
South Louisiana is starting to feel the effects of Tropical Storm Barry that could become a Category 1 hurricane when it makes landfall Saturday morning. The greatest threat from Barry will be significant flooding over parts of southern Louisiana.
We continue adding to our workforce that is ready to restore electrical service that will be disrupted by Barry. As of 3 p.m. today, our Louisiana workforce totals over 2,800, including over 2,000 line and vegetation workers onsite and en route. We also are assembling a team of over 130 restoration workers, plus support, for Entergy Mississippi, due to the proximity of the forecast track.
