Work Starts to Ensure Reliability in Calvert / Franklin

01/05/2017

Motorists Urged to Drive Cautiously in Work Areas

NAVASOTA, Texas – Power lines serving much of Robertson County are about to get a service reliability makeover. Contract crews are set to begin work on removing vegetation and trimming trees near the line to help keep the lights on for the 1,576 customers it serves across Robertson County.

The line runs down FM 1644 from the eastern portion of Calvert to Franklin and then down Highway 79 to Easterly.  Entergy Texas estimates the work will take around four months to complete.

Drivers are urged to be alert for workers and to drive cautiously in those areas.

“All of our power lines are on a regular maintenance schedule,” said Ronald Hale, local customer service manager. “It’s important to constantly invest in maintaining the electric system to reduce outages and help ensure a safe, reliable supply of power to our customers.”

Entergy Texas invests about $7 million per year in its vegetation management programs, trimming an average of 2,000 line miles annually.

Entergy Texas, Inc. provides electricity to more than 430,000 customers in 27 counties.
