Entergy Texas storm update – 5/27/25, 5 p.m.
05/27/2025

Entergy Texas successfully restored power to more than 70% of customers who lost power following a combination of extreme winds, heavy rain and lightning in Southeast Texas Tuesday morning. As of 4:30 p.m., approximately 8,000 customers are without power, down from a peak of 31,760 customer outages across the Entergy Texas service area at 3:45 a.m. Tuesday. Damage assessments are complete, and the majority of impacted customers are expected to be restored by midnight with the exception of customers in the most heavily impacted areas like Montgomery and Jefferson counties.
Entergy Texas’ restoration workforce, including lineworkers, damage assessors, vegetation workers, support personnel and more than 300 additional resources will continue working around the clock, including throughout the night, to safely turn the lights back on for all remaining outages.
Entergy Texas preforms storm preparations year-round – from inspections and vegetation management to training and industry collaboration. With hurricane season starting on June 1, the company encourages its customers to prepare for storms as well.
