In response to the recent tornadoes that devastated several counties in Entergy Mississippi’s service area, the company is committing $25,000 to providing critical relief to families and individuals hit by the storms.
NEW ORLEANS – Entergy is proud to announce the launch of its Power Your Future Scholarship program, designed to support current college undergraduates pursuing eligible technology majors who plan to further their education at designated select Historically Black Colleges or Universities or minority-serving institutions within Entergy’s service area. Selected recipients will receive a $5,000 award, with up to 20 scholarships available.
Restoration is complete and electrical power has been restored to all customers affected by that storm who can safely receive power.

Damage assessment is also underway and we anticipate this to be a multi-day restoration event, particularly in the more severely impacted areas. Currently, damage assessment is 82% complete and has identified damages to 157 poles, 17 transformers, 115 cross arms, and more than 13 miles of downed wire.
No matter the season, severe weather has the potential to leave widespread damage and cause power outages. It’s why Entergy Mississippi is observing Severe Weather Preparedness Week (Feb. 9-15) and encouraging customers to do the same by making a plan.
January brought prolonged winter weather, causing many customers to use more energy to heat their homes. Higher usage can lead to higher-than-normal bills, but we’re committed to providing resources, tools and payment options to help customers manage their energy costs through the winter months.
