Entergy Mississippi has restored service to customers who lost power during Hurricane Barry.
Despite flooding and accessibility issues in some of the hardest-hit areas, a storm team of more than 4,000 are making significant progress in restoring power to customers following Hurricane Barry.
Despite flooding and accessibility issues in some of the hardest-hit areas, a workforce of some 4,000 has made significant progress in restoring 304,175 Entergy Louisiana customer outages following Hurricane Barry. As of 8:30 p.m. Monday, approximately 7,000 customers remained without power in Louisiana, mainly concentrated in the Greater Baton Rouge area, as well as Lafourche and Terrebonne parishes.
Since Barry first started affecting the state, we have amassed a workforce of more than 4,000 and restored power to more than 275,000 customers. As of 9 a.m. Monday, there were approximately 24,000 customers who remain without power in Louisiana, with concentrations in the greater Baton Rouge area as well as Terrebonne and Lafourche parishes.
We ask for your patience as we rebuild damaged infrastructure, including poles, wires, substations and major lines.
Our workers continue restoring service and assess damage caused by Barry, where it is safe to do so. As of 8 p.m. Sunday, there are 27,000 customers who remain without power in Louisiana. Since Barry first started affecting Louisiana, we have restored more than 235,000 customer outages.
Hurricane Barry weakened as a tropical storm and is now a tropical depression that continues to move slowly causing numerous outages. Mississippi will have locally heavy thunderstorms and isolated tornadoes that will be possible through Monday with the incoming rain bands. We are assessing damage and restoring service to our customers where it is safe to do so.
As the storm moves slowly through our service territory, outage numbers will continue to fluctuate. While our number of customers affected remains fairly consistent, we have already restored over 188,000 customers.
