The nearly 270 students at Long Creek Elementary School in Sallis, Mississippi, started the school year a little better prepared after Attala Plant employees donated $200 worth of supplies.

The school is within the plant's community, located about 10 miles away. Employees took donations for two weeks before purchasing and delivering the supplies.

Donated articles covered a wide variety of items, such as notebooks, pencils, colors, erasers, book bags, loose-leaf paper, index cards, magic markers, glue sticks, plastic bags, scissors, tissues and pencil boxes.
