Entergy wins prestigious national award for resiliency solutions

01/19/2023

The Edison Electric Institute has named Entergy as an Outstanding National Key Accounts Customer Service 2022 Award winner for our resiliency solutions. Hundreds of the nation’s leading chain and multi-site businesses, including corporations like Amazon, Marriott, Microsoft and Walmart, voted in the prestigious awards program to honor electric utilities that are delivering exceptional service to their corporate customers.

Severe weather is impacting our region with increased strength and greater frequency. This has reinforced the need to accelerate investments to enhance the resilience of Entergy’s electric system, which contributes substantially to withstanding and recovering from severe weather events in the communities we serve, while maintaining affordable energy rates for our customers. As our customers continue to rely increasingly on electricity, providing a resilient and reliable electric grid is critical for them to achieve their desired outcomes.

At Entergy, building a resilient and reliable electric grid is what we do, and it has been part of our business for decades. Within our Entergy Future Ready resiliency solutions portfolio, Power Through has continued to receive acclaim from commercial and industrial customers since its launch in 2020. Power Through is a backup generation service that gives our customers access to reliable backup power generation when and where they need it, so they can literally power through outages resulting from unpredictable weather and environmental events, and continue operations with ease.

Enhancing the electric grid is an ongoing, year-round effort that is well planned. Grid resiliency efforts across all of Entergy’s operating companies call for a $15 billion investment over 10 years to better protect against weather events, from hurricanes to ice storms, and they will include the hardening of more than 30,000 miles of distribution power lines and nearly 500,000 distribution poles.

The Outstanding National Key Accounts Customer Service Awards were established by the Customer Advisory Group, a group of national corporate customers that offers feedback, guidance and support to EEI’s National Key Accounts program. EEI’s National Key Accounts program is a customer-focused initiative through which leading multi-site customers and electric company account representatives collaborate to develop energy management strategies that can be integrated into facilities nationwide.

The Entergy service area is home to the largest industrial region in the United States. Our ongoing focus on fostering positive relationships with our customers helps position us as their partner of choice. To read more about Entergy’s commitment to resiliency, visit entergy.com/future
