We’re from Louisiana and for Louisiana.

This is our home, too, and most of us at Entergy are customers just like you. We know it’s important to you that we deliver reliable power at an affordable price. In fact, we take this responsibility to heart and it’s more important than ever that our teams work diligently every day to help keep your bills as low as possible.

Your energy costs at the lowest possible price: 33% below the national average

Whether you’re a grocery store owner, a school administrator, managing your household’s expenses, or overseeing a hospital or manufacturing plant, we understand that every dollar in your budget matters. In the last decade, we have invested billions to strengthen the grid and modernize our generation portfolio.  As a result, Entergy has one of the cleanest and most efficient generating fleets that has allowed us to keep rate increased to a minimum – generally at or below the rate of inflation.  That’s why we’re proud to say last year our rates were ~33% below the national average and consistently for the last 15 years among the lowest in the state.

8 cost-saving actions we’re taking today to stay below the national average

  1. Building a storm-strong grid: By reinforcing our grid ahead of severe weather, Louisiana customers will save an estimated $1.2 billion in avoided storm costs. A more resilient grid also means less and shorter outages when it comes to weather. Phase 1 of this effort includes 2,100 projects across our state and is already underway.
  2. Modernizing our generation fleet: Modern technologies equal better efficiency, and our new, modern power generation sources help us and our customers meet clean energy goals, but also offer us the flexibility to lessen the impact on your bills should one fuel source spikes in price.
  3. Building an all of the above generation mix. Using a diverse range of power sources makes our system more reliable, efficient and cost effective for customers.
  4. Managing fuel costs: We’re in a constant state of trying to procure fuel at the lowest price available. Fuel costs are never marked up, so customers pay exactly what we pay. Also, having a variety of power sources helps shield customers from fuel price fluctuations and enhances grid reliability.
  5. Recruiting new power partners: By bringing new, large customers into our service area we not only help create new jobs and dollars for the state but also it creates a framework that lessens the rate impact for our residential customers across Louisiana.
  6. Putting money back in your pockets: During the 2024 tax season, Entergy helped low-income customers across our service area receive $55 million in federal tax refunds. We help customers save additional dollars through other federal funding resources including LIHEAP and Single Stop, and we offer The Power to Care – our long-held bill assistance program for qualifying customers.
  7. Lessening fees: Last year, the Louisiana Public Service Commission approved a reduction of late fees, elimination of connection and reconnection fees, and the expansion of eligibility for low-income senior bill discounts – for a three-year span.
  8. Offering bill support: Our Bill Toolkit provides customers resources and available assistance options to help them more easily manage their energy bill. Whether you have questions about your bill, need more time to pay or are looking for assistance, our one-stop shop connects you to available programs and services.

Entergy is invested in you in more ways than one. Our 5,100 employees across Louisiana are your neighbors, your friends, your family. This is the place we happily call home just like you. As every day expenses continue to become more and more costly, as inflation rises, we remain focused on minimizing the impact of our customers’ bills.
