Entergy New Orleans is proud to announce that it will be the title sponsor for the New Orleans Excellence in Teaching Awards (NOETA) Gala for the third consecutive year. This partnership underscores Entergy's unwavering commitment to supporting New Orleans schools, educators, and students, and uplifting the New Orleans community.

Taking place in the Fall 2024, the NOETA Gala will bestow the “Teacher of the Year,” moniker to one top-performing teacher from each New Orleans Public School and gift the honoree with a $1,000 Classroom Excellence Grant. Representing the top 3% of educators in the city, the NOETA Gala spotlights teachers’ immense commitment to their students and to their profession.

“At Entergy New Orleans, we believe in the transformative power of education,” said Deanna Rodriguez, President, and CEO of Entergy New Orleans. “By partnering with New Schools for New Orleans, we are going to make a meaningful impact on the lives of both students and educators. Together, we are lighting the way towards a better, brighter future for our community.”

The New Orleans Excellence in Teaching Awards recognizes outstanding educators who go above and beyond to inspire and empower their students. This partnership provides Entergy New Orleans with a platform to celebrate the dedication of exceptional educators and to highlight the profound impact these committed individuals have on their student’s lives.

"We are deeply grateful for the continued support and partnership of Entergy New Orleans," said Dana Peterson, CEO of New Schools for New Orleans. “New Orleans' teachers are skilled, powerful, and devoted to their students, and all deserve to be celebrated at this level. The NOETA Gala empowers teachers with resources and support that allows them to pour back into our students. Entergy's commitment to supporting our educators and the local community at large underscores their dedication to fostering a brighter future for our city.”

Through this collaboration, Entergy New Orleans, NSNO, and the Allstate Sugar Bowl New Orleans Teacher Community continue to champion excellence in teaching, elevate student success, and foster a community where every New Orleans child has access to a great school. Funds raised by the NOETA Gala are put directly into classrooms across New Orleans.
