Entergy Reschedules Third Quarter Earnings Call In Consideration Of Those Preparing For Hurricane Sandy

Earnings call now scheduled for Monday, Nov. 5, 2012

NEW ORLEANS – In light of the major storm approaching the northeastern U.S., Entergy Corporation (NYSE: ETR) today announced it has rescheduled its third quarter 2012 earnings teleconference to Nov. 5, 2012, from Oct. 30.

"The current weather forecasts show Hurricane Sandy likely bringing with her widespread and high winds to the Northeast, beginning Monday night and potentially not dissipating until Wednesday. With many of our shareholders, financial analysts, employees and others living in and around the storm's projected path, rescheduling our earnings call was an easy decision to make," said J. Wayne Leonard, Entergy's chairman and CEO.

"We know firsthand the challenges, both personal and professional, associated with these storms, and the stress and distraction that uncertainty during these events can cause. We also know that nothing is more important than staying safe and taking care of family, co-workers, friends and neighbors who might need a little extra assistance. We are extremely grateful for the understanding, patience and assistance so many have shown us in our past times of need, and our thoughts and well wishes are with those potentially in Sandy's path. Clearly, the right thing for us to do is reschedule our earnings call."

Entergy's utility operating companies have sent 318 tool workers plus support personnel highly experienced in storm restoration to the region in anticipation of a massive restoration effort following Hurricane Sandy's landfall. In addition, personnel at Entergy's nuclear plants in the Northeast continue to track the storm's path and are making necessary preparations for the potential of high winds and rainfall.
