Company asks customers to conserve between 5 p.m. and 10 p.m.
While restoration continues for customers affected by winter storms earlier this week, another winter weather front is expected to affect Entergy Mississippi’s service area today into the evening.
The winter weather continues to cause power outages for Entergy Mississippi customers across our service territory. As of 5:30 p.m., 3,341 customers are without power. We expect to restore power to the majority of customers throughout the state today, though outages for some customers in these hardest-hit areas may carry over until tomorrow. We are also monitoring a new winter weather system that will likely affect the central and northern portions of our service area beginning tomorrow afternoon and into Thursday.
Historic cold weather continues to impact the state and Entergy Mississippi needs your help. During extremely cold weather, the electric load increases significantly in comparison to “normal" cold weather conditions.
Action requested due to demand potentially exceeding available generation
Freezing rain, snow, and sleet arrived in the Entergy Mississippi service territory Sunday and into Monday morning. Extremely cold temperatures have accompanied this storm and are expected to last for much of the week. As of 9 a.m., about 3,080 customers are without power and our crews are restoring power where it is safe to do so.
