Entergy Arkansas sincerely apologizes for the inconvenience of being without power and thanks you for your patience as we continue to work diligently to safely restore power in your area. Today has been one of the hottest days of the summer, and we are taking safety precautions while working to restore your power in the heat.

Entergy Arkansas continues to make significant progress since the peak of more than 62,000 outages Sunday afternoon. Approximately 6,300 Entergy customers remain without power. With the support of helicopters to assist with damage assessment, we have identified 561 broken poles, 205 damaged transformers and 1,032 spans of downed wire. Restoration for some customers in areas more extensively damaged may take until 10 p.m. and a few isolated outages will carry into Thursday.

Some customers who currently have power may experience brief power outages this evening as workers restore power to all customers.

Please check the outage map regularly for your latest restoration time, as you may not receive proper notifications due to technical issues that we are working to address.

Entergy Arkansas strives to provide the most up-to-date information about outages, but customers with special needs or other circumstances in hard-hit areas may want to seek options for other accommodations until power is restored, especially with the hot weather predicted this week.

Key Messages:

• Portions of our service area are experiencing dangerously high temperatures. If you're without power, wear loose, lightweight clothing to help prevent heat-related illness. For more tips, visit entergy.com/heat.
• For customers continuing to experience outages, it’s important to know how to keep your food safe. Discard perishable food that has been above 40 F for two hours or more. Learn more by visiting entergy.com/food.
• Cooling centers are available for customers in need of relief from the daytime heat.
• Due to extensive heat, crews are taking mandatory breaks as we work to restore power safely.

If you have damages and are still without power, check the electrical equipment attached to your home or business. If the service line that attached to the structure has been damaged by this storm, you may have damage to your meter base. If it is damaged, you may need to have an electrician make repairs as well as a permit before Entergy Arkansas can safely reconnect service.  Cooling Centers Opened for Customers

Network updates as of 6:00 p.m.:

Pope County

Russellville

98% of the known damage has been assessed. We have identified approximately 62 broken poles, 132 spans of wire, 26 broken cross arms, 17 destroyed transformers, and 70 spans of wire that need tree trimming. We continue to find and repair damages that may cause additional or repeat outages. As of 4 p.m. we have approximately 143 customers remaining without power. Entergy expects all customers who can safely receive power to be restored by tonight at 10 p.m. Restoration efforts will continue into Thursday for remaining customers.

Arkansas County

Stuttgart

Crews have been working in the area repairing damaged equipment and removing vegetation. Crews will continue to work throughout the evening. The current estimated restoration time is tonight at 10 p.m.

Lonoke County

Lonoke/Carlisle/Hazen

Damage assessment is complete. Weather permitting crews will continue to work in the area repairing equipment and removing vegetation.  We have additional crews in the area and will continue to work throughout the evening to restore as many customers as safely as possible. The current estimated restoration time is tonight at 10 p.m.

Poinsett & Mississippi Counties

Etowah, Lepanto, Marked Tree and Tyronza

Entergy crews are continuing safe restoration of service today. As of 4 p.m., 2,140 customers remain without power in the Poinsett & Mississippi County area.  Damage assessments are 100% complete with 95 broken poles, 120 spans of downed power lines and 20 transformers needing to be replaced.  In addition to our existing line crews, we secured 96 line-workers from surrounding areas along with several vegetation crews working to safely restore power. The current estimated restoration time is Thursday 10 p.m.

Etowah & Lepanto: Transmission Lines have been restored and repairs are being completed to return majority customers to service that can safely take power.  We will continue to work individual outages that we have as well.

Marked Tree: We are working our way through the downed trees and removing them from power lines and snapped poles. As we remove vegetation, we will be able to complete repairs. Line crews will continue to have crews working on the north side of town in areas of Chicago, Elm, Poinsett, W. 1^st and Industrial along with all other outages that come in across the city.

Tyronza: Crews continue to work to restore power in the area and expect customers that can safely receive service to be restored by Thursday 10 p.m.

If your neighbor has power but you do not, please report an outage for your address.  The current estimated restoration time is Thursday 10 p.m.

Northern Pulaski and Lonoke County

Jacksonville, Sherwood and Cabot

Entergy crews are continuing safe restoration of service today. As of 4 p.m., 550 customers remain without power in Jacksonville, 486 in Cabot and 2 in Sherwood.  Damage assessment is complete in the affected areas with 112 broken poles, 142 spans of downed power lines, 72 transformers needing to be replaced, 12 crossarms damaged, 25 service lines down and 131 trees to be removed from lines. Over 200 line and vegetation workers are working to safely restore power. Entergy expects most customers that can safely receive service to be restored by Thursday 10 p.m.

SAFETY FIRST!

Be sure to report any downed power lines and follow all safety precautions when using generators.

Safety is our number one priority. If you are without power, keep the following tips in mind:

• Stay away from downed power lines and assume they are energized.
• Report a power outage on the myEntergy site or call 1-800-9OUTAGE. There is no need to speak with a customer service representative to report an outage if completed online.
• If you have a portable generator, use it safely. DO NOT run it in an enclosed space. If connecting the generator to the whole house, do so only if the connection has been installed by a licensed electrician to prevent back feed on to the distribution system.
• Do not open your refrigerator or freezer door. Food will stay cold much longer this way. If outside temperature is below freezing, consider placing food in an ice chest outside.
• Please stay clear of linemen as they work to safely restore power.

We understand the extreme heat during this time. To protect yourself and your families, follow these recommendations from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention:

• Drink fluids, even if you don't feel thirsty.
• Wear loose, lightweight clothing and a hat.
• Replace salt lost from sweating by drinking fruit juice or sports drinks.
• Avoid spending time outdoors during the hottest part of the day, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
• Wear sunscreen: a sunburn affects the body's ability to cool itself.
• Air conditioning is the best way to cool off; if you are using a generator, do so safely.
• Check on seniors, who can be particularly susceptible to extreme temperatures.
