Support from the Entergy Charitable Foundation has helped New Schools for Baton Rouge respond to the community’s demand for excellence in public education by helping transform underperforming schools in the capital city.
Stipe and other volunteers staffed Entergy’s booth at the third annual Hands-On STEM Educational Day. Thousands of students attended the event held at the baseball stadium now known as The Shrine on Airline.
One of the key issues in combating poverty is eliminating illiteracy.
“Instructors and students alike looked forward to the visits,” said Bryan. “These bright and enthusiastic students were extremely appreciative of the one-on-one instruction.”
