Since the night of May 8, Entergy Arkansas has restored approximately 43,000 customer outages resulting from multiple storm fronts that moved through the state. Currently there are approximately 1,430 remaining customer outages.
Entergy Arkansas has restored approximately 30,000 customer outages resulting from multiple storm fronts that moved through the state in the early morning hours on May 8 and May 9. Currently there are approximately 1,800 remaining customer outages.
Entergy Arkansas continues to make significant progress in restoring power to more than 21,000 customers impacted by last night's severe weather in the Hot Springs and Little Rock areas. Crews also stand ready to respond to any issues that may arise from severe weather moving through the state this evening.
Power outages remain throughout the state after a confirmed tornado touched down in Hot Springs and storms caused lightning and high winds in Central Arkansas.
In all, Entergy Mississippi restored service to over 89,606 customers following the severe weather event.
Damage assessment is complete and we have identified damages to 216 poles, 55 transformers, 91 cross arms, and 812 spans (223,000 feet) of downed wire.
Significant restoration progress was made overnight and as of 8 a.m., 6,844 customers remain without power from this week’s severe storms and high winds. As of 8 a.m. Friday, 69,966 customers have had their power restored.
Many customers will be restored Thursday evening. However, due to the severity of damages and the widespread impact, some customers in the areas of Natchez, McComb, Hazlehurst, Clinton, Jackson, Hinds County, Madison, Vicksburg, Carthage, Grenada, Charleston, Carmack and Enid may carry over into Friday evening.
A workforce of 1,400 company and contract workers, including damage assessors, vegetation crews, line workers, and support personnel, are diligently working to restore power as quickly and safely as possible.
