According to the National Hurricane Center, Tropical Storm Barry is expected to further develop over the northern Gulf of Mexico. Although the latest projections indicate a central Louisiana landfall, we continue to prepare for the possibility that this weather system may impact Entergy Mississippi service areas with severe thunderstorms, strong winds and heavy rains.

UPDATE: Mississippi Restoration Efforts
06/21/2019

Severe thunderstorms and high winds moved through the Entergy Mississippi territory, Thursday morning, June 20, causing numerous outages which peaked at 10,164 customers. Damage assessment continues, and additional resources have been brought in to assist in the restoration effort. As of 9 a.m., Friday, June 21, 8,063 customers have been restored. We will continue to work to restore power to the remaining 2,101 customers.

Severe thunderstorms and high winds moved through the Entergy Mississippi territory, Thursday morning, June 20, causing numerous outages which peaked at 10,164 customers. Damage assessment continues, and additional resources have been brought in to assist in the restoration effort. As of 6 p.m. 5,895 customers have been restored. We will continue to work to restore power to the remaining 4,269 customers.

Entergy Mississippi to Wrap up Restoration Efforts Today

Entergy Mississippi workers expect to have power restored to all customers who can accept it by Saturday evening. Crews have worked around the clock to restore power to customers affected by the violent storms that swept across Mississippi Thursday. At its peak, the storm system knocked out power to 28,300 customers throughout the state.
