Entergy Texas Making Progress in Power Restoration

Entergy power restoration workers are chipping away at outage cases caused by Imelda’s wrath. Entergy Texas, Inc. has amassed nearly 700 workers as well as airboats, high-water vehicles and drones to restore power. As of 9 a.m. Entergy Texas had restored more than half of the customers affected by Imelda’s torrential rainfall. Crews are working today to restore approximately 13,000 customers still without power.

A team of more than 100 Entergy Arkansas employees worked closely with BRS by selling the company land to build on, building infrastructure to serve the enormous electrical load, and working through dozens of customer needs as the mill ramped up to beginning production in early 2016.

The 2019 tax season represented a milestone in Entergy Arkansas’s efforts to help low-income customers break the cycle of poverty. Ten years ago, Entergy began sponsoring free Super Tax Day events throughout its four-state service area to help qualifying customers claim the Earned Income Tax Credit. Since 2009, Entergy’s signature poverty-elimination program has helped 32,600 working families in Arkansas receive nearly $53 million in EITC refunds.
