Entergy and partners help working families claim $64.6 million in EITC refunds
The 2019 tax season represented a milestone in Entergy Arkansas’s efforts to help low-income customers break the cycle of poverty. Ten years ago, Entergy began sponsoring free Super Tax Day events throughout its four-state service area to help qualifying customers claim the Earned Income Tax Credit. Since 2009, Entergy’s signature poverty-elimination program has helped 32,600 working families in Arkansas receive nearly $53 million in EITC refunds.

Entergy is committed partnering with organizations, like Start the Adventure in Reading based in New Orleans, to help ensure that all our customers – even the youngest – have access to a quality education. Nonprofit community partners, such as Start the Adventure in Reading, were recipients of more than $1.3 million awarded by shareholders through the Entergy Charitable Foundation’s first round of grants in 2019.
Award serves as the national standard for superior corporate citizenship.

Entergy has partnered with Southern University to further support their mutual commitment to developing engineering talent for the future. A $2 million grant to Southern University from Entergy and the Entergy Charitable Foundation will support classroom and lab infrastructure improvements, as well as curriculum and faculty professional development for the university’s engineering program.
