River Bend Begins 19th Refueling Outage

Control room operators removed Entergy’s River Bend Nuclear Station from service on Jan. 28 to begin its 19th scheduled refueling and maintenance outage. River Bend is investing more than $61 million to complete the refueling and other important projects. That investment translates to additional economic activity for the surrounding communities from dozens of vendors and over 1,100 additional contract workers, many from outside the area.

Vermont Yankee’s Decommissioning to be Accelerated by Decades

Entergy Corp. announced today an agreement to sell Entergy Nuclear Vermont Yankee and transfer the US Nuclear Regulatory Commission licenses to subsidiaries of NorthStar Group Services, Inc. to accelerate decommissioning and site restoration by decades. In addition, Entergy announced plans to accelerate the transfer of all spent nuclear fuel to dry cask storage at the Vermont Yankee Nuclear Power Station, from 2020 to 2018.

Indian Point to Conduct Planned Security Training Exercises; Drills to Include Simulated Weaponry, Artificial Gunfire
10/02/2016

Security officers will be participating in a scheduled training drill at the Indian Point Energy Center during parts of the day and evening on October 4 and October 13. The training drills will involve simulated attack scenarios that are intended to be as realistic as possible. Members of the public may hear what appears to be gunfire from simulated weapons systems used during the exercises.
